WARNING: POST CONTAINS TEBOW.
I never was one of the raving Tebow fans when he was here with the Broncos, even during his run. (I was a Kyle Orton apologist.) I'm not religious either, though that aspect of him never really annoyed me that much. I just didn't think he was that good of a QB for the NFL. He still isn't, and his career is possibly over now that he has been !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
That said, I'm always going to be thankful for what he managed to do while he was here with Denver. When he replaced Kyle Orton, it was a miserable season and it felt like it was going to be just like the previous year that ended with the Broncos going 4-12. He played awful for most of the Dolphins game except for the end and OT, sucked in the Lions game, and then helped the Broncos reel off a string of wins that were weird but exciting to watch. Seriously, they won against the Chiefs and his stat line was 2 of 8 for 69 yards. 2 completed passes. 2! Who does that? And wins, no less! After the string of wins came 3 losses where they came down to earth, and yet made the playoffs because every other team in the division choked.
I don't know if anyone really believed they'd beat the Steelers. I didn't think they would, I just wanted it to be close. That game will always be one of my favorite memories. I pulled a muscle in my leg jumping up and down when DT caught that pass and ran it in for the touchdown for the win.
It didn't matter to me that they lost to the Pats the next week. The fact that they made it there was enough; as soon as the Pats jumped out to a 21-7 lead I turned the TV off. I was expecting a terrible season, and it was instead a very fun, exciting year.
A couple months later, the Broncos went after Peyton Manning and got him, then traded Tebow to the Jets. Even with what Tebow had managed to do, I was thrilled. I don't think Tebow would have been able to become an NFL QB even if he stayed with the Broncos. I think Elway knew that too. But I'll always remember what he was able to do that season, and that playoff game against the Steelers will always be one of my favorite Broncos memories.

As a son of Denver seeking to return within a year, I would have to agree with this post. I still have a 4' tall plastic sports locker themed in original Denver Bronco's livery I got when I was 7 and makes its way to every apartment (My brother has a Bill's one its still in his old room along with the old box of Flutie Flakes). Tebow was a great thing for those wierdo's in the Springs, but I had to believe in him because he was at least good at making everyone else on the team believe . On that TD against the Steeler's I went horse in my battle cry-mostly because I did it in the face of every obnoxious Steelers fan I know here in upstate NY.
But seriously what DO people in CO think of Elway now? I envision him as like a Sith Lord- ruthless but calculating and still entertaining so you can't really hate him? I say that because the departure of Jay cutler and my man Dumerville felt oddly similar. "There was a contract misunderstanding ..." N it had to be the Ravens?? Wahat was the reason for paying him less? I can't blame Dumerville for going to a team who would actually pay him what he's worth... but goddammit. I was so pumped to go back to Denver and hold up a DR. DOOOM sign. My dreams are crushed.
That dood Eddie Royal tho...just randomly saw his draft then picked up his collegiate highlight and he's done some amazing sh*t for the Bronco's here an there but damn I wish they used him more often.

Tim is a terrible QB and that's why I love watching him play. His shortcomings force him to run an offense unlike anything else and it's both wholly unique in the NFL and absolutely unbelievable. He makes no sense to have as your starting quarterback, but despite this I hope the Bills pick him up so I can see that crazy ass offense again.

Can you think of a reason the Bills shouldn't pick him up? I can't. How could he possibly be worse than any other backup quarterback they could sign right now?

This is a team that signed both Kevin Kolb and Kevin Kolb with a Heisman, and Kevin Kolb with a Heisman's backup is in Minnesota. Tebow is no worse than any of those three, he'd be a great bridge until EJ is healthy.

They could always sign Brady Quinn. You remember Brady Quinn, he's the guy who could not beat out Tim Tebow to replace Kyle Orton.

I worry that Rex Ryan read this and took it seriously...
